Bio1) What is Reading by Moonlight?
Reading by Moonlight is a blog about science fiction with a particular focus on women writers, female-authored texts and feminist issues in the genre. It aims to showcase:
i) Research into the field, both by myself and by other academics and fans.
ii) Reviews and recommendations of novels and short stories.
iii) Other material of interest to science fiction fans.
2) Where does the name come from?
The name is a play on Damien Broderick's critical study of science fiction called "Reading by Starlight," which I still think has the best title ever. As the moon has been a major symbol in the genre science fiction and an emblem of womanhood, it seemed appropriate!
3) Can I use your material on my site/blog or in my project/paper/thesis?
Certainly. I only ask that you provide a reference back to this blog. Offline, you will need to follow whatever referencing guidelines. Online, you'll need to provide a link.
